Crossing another one off "the list"...

Photos of Kat Von D in the October issue of ION Magazine.

Over the month of July I had the great opportunity to work on the feature story for the fall issue of Precedent Magazine. 'Family portraits' focuses on some of highest profile lawyers in Toronto and their children who have decided to pursue the same career.

Many thanks to the Greenspans, McMurtrys, Scotts, Youngs and Swadrons for lending their time and sharing their stories.

Who knew you could look this good after being stuck in a thunderstorm?

Long time, no blog! I have missed this thing...

This summer I had a chance to do some work on the commemorative issue for Canada's Walk of Fame, which happened this past weekend here in Toronto. I was lucky to have photographed founder Peter Soumalias, Canadian legend Eugene Levy and even be a featured contributor.

My computer is on slight hiatus for a few days. It has been for a while but I am getting it repaired so blogging/ working has been a bit slow.

Sometimes I get very cute emails that make my day just a little bit brighter. Today I woke up to this.

Subject: Hello from NY

Your photos are amazing. I know you hear that a lot. However I am what matters when it comes to opinions……ha ha only kidding. I'm an idiot.

Honestly I have spent the past hour or so here at work just looking through your page. I cannot believe how amazing you are!!

Well I hope this little note has made your day. Take care and have fun today!!

Um, thanks!

This would be a good time to say thank you to everyone who sends me nice emails or photo clippings. You are the best!

Today we learned that we are too old for rides, we will like our own children better, things that were once slow now go way too fast and on any given day you just might be mistaken for Santa Clause.

I am excited for the day when someone wants to write a book about my soon to be famous friend. I have so many good stories to tell but until then I leave you with pictures.

Mission Accomplished.

Yesterday I had the pleasure of crossing a 'wish I could photograph' off my list and spent a few minutes with Ms. Kat Von D. Kat was in town for the day promoting her new makeup line for Sephora and I was lucky enough to get a bit of time with her on the in between.

Despite that fact that I have no tattoos and no desire, Kat is an incredible artist who has accomplished so much at such a young age. I really admire that she is doing what she loves and is beyond successful at it. From only ever seeing her on TV and magazines, she is so unique and I couldn't help but wonder what she was going to look like in person. She is so colourful from makeup to attire, I was patiently awaiting her arrival and she did not disappoint. She was exactly how I expected in so many respects from the humongous boots with 7 inch platforms, tights, a ripped up tank top, big belt, huge sunglasses, outrageous purse that was the print of the American flag and signature red lips. It was kind of funny watching her walk into the store as everyone outside was just staring. Even if you had no idea who she was, I am sure your eyes would be fixated. It was wonderful. I have to say that on top of all the rocker chic Kat is so stunningly beautiful, even more so in person.

With a extra large Red Bull in hand, she got through the interview and then headed over to shoot with me. She was so down to earth and funny and even though our time was quick, I was so happy I got the opportunity.

I also have to point out that none of this would have been possible without my amazing friend and agent extraordinaire Natasha. This is definitely just the beginning.

Like always, the photos are being saved for now so I will leave you with a video instead.
